Transcribed - A Celebration of Black Trans & Non-Binary Poetic Expression

I had the wonderful opportunity to be a part of this show at IFCC in Portland, OR. I performed three selections that focused on my Black and Trans experience. It was incredible to be surrounded by other Black and Trans writers and performers. It was a moment of creating space for everyone to be in community, seen, heard, and felt.

Honoring your Rhythm as an Artist

A wonderful group of folxs attended this workshop about honoring their rhythm as an artist. It was wonderful to teach and lead conversations around how white supremacy, colonialism, and capitalism have affected them as creative folxs. Just as well, we explored steps they can take to break down these internal and external constructs to be in their own creative flow.

Online, a group of folxs gathered to explore preparing themselves for a kink event or scene. We talked about community and personal expectations, where you sometimes create unconsciulsy for something external. They gained tools to create their experiences from within.

It was warming to lead this session with other BIPOC and/or Queer folks. BIPOC and queer folks often find themselves invisible in the world. This feeling isn’t fostered by them but comes with constructs in our larger community. In this session, attendees received psychic readings that brought a sense of community and the validity of being seen.

This was such a wonderful class to teach! This class focused on exploring meditation as a tool used during your writing sessions. I fostered a space where attendees could feel comfortable in community and have the freedom to express themselves through this journey. Attendees learned how meditation can be resourceful for them as writers. Attendees gleamed moments of clarity, newfound lightness, room for emotions, the safety of being grounded, and a difference in their writing experience.

I led a special session on the topic of embracing one’s own inner revolution. This was an opportunity for attendees to be led in a group meditation, providing space to center and ground. The attendees also received psychic readings on this very topic.

Creating and Fighting for a New World While Grieving

I led a meditation for Queer, Gender Expansive, and Trans Folk. I wanted to create a safe space where folks aligned with those identities could gather in community and find a sense of grounding. As a queer and trans individual, it is important to me to support, uplift, and offer healing for these communities. The meditation session focused on noticing the challenges in the world, especially as queer, gender expansive, and trans folk. In noticing, there was space and awareness to surrender what wasn’t needed or no longer served them to the earth as our natural support buddy. This included time to bring in more of their energy to nourish them in their lives.
