Writings and Psychic Insight
It is indeed 2015.
Last year ended with a sizzle or fizzle, or bang and you are not the same as you once were. You are not the same as you were five years ago either. You have changed. You have grown more and learned more than ever in your life. In this moment, you are new.
As you begin to really move into your resolutions and your dreams, you may notice that things you once wanted you don't want anymore. (and that's not bad...). It is wierd and strange. Maybe it even feels energizing. You have indeed changed and these feeling is simply a reflection.
I experienced this very thing. A few days ago, I was thinking about ways I could get into physical wellness. I immediately remembered my days of taking aerial arts classes and gymnastics. Why not give that a try again! When I first took these classes, learning to do art on ropes with my body and walk on my hands, I LOVED it! I felt cleansed after each class.
So I decided to google a school not far from downtown Chicago. I checked into the page, scrolled through the images, and come to a halting realization. I had changed! *gasp*. The images didn't motivate a passionate stiring as they once did. Instead, I felt like it no longer felt like me. This art was no longer aligned to who I am now a days.
In that very moment, I remembered that previously I used aerial arts to show how strong I was mentally and physically. Yet, my resolutions now are to express grace and movement in this year. Now what?
At that moment, I had no clue what sort of physical exercise would incorporate resolution's time of grace and beauty. (Now I think I will take a contortion and flexibility class....that seems a better fit.)
So what happens when realize you aren't the same as you were before? When your dreams are no longer the same as before? When you want something different in your life? Something....new?
Here are a few tips to get things moving in that new direction of the new you:
Give yourself permission to step outside your comfort zone.
Yes! Go and do that new thing! Meet new people. Signup for recreation groups. Go on a crazy wonderful vacation. Feed this new tone, this new vibration, your bringing into your life. It is you getting one step closer to yourself. One way to find that true expression of you anew is to try something new!
Speak to your friends and family with compassion
Realize that as you grow and change, not everyone around you will adjust quickly. They may be resigned to lay in the old ways. They may resist your change. Look at them with compassion and realize that you changed. It might take a week, a month, a year for them to get use to the new you. Do you, but speak with compassion. (....and breath when it gets a little tense, you know old you roles vs new you roles). It is your life.
Give yourself permission to let go of the old you, if you want.
You may be ready to be you 2.0. The updated version of you. You may not (and that is ok too. Change can be scary). But if you are ready, take some time to do a cleansing. Clean out the closet and begin to fill it with clothes that represent you right now. Redecorate your home. Cut and color and makeover your look. Buy new things you now like in the newness of you. Drink and eat the foods you are craving now (not five years ago). Do you. It is an intuitive journey but you know you bet. Trust all the new you want. It is you.
My next steps?
For me, this means looking for lighter jewelry, graceful, and elegant but simple. Wearing clothes that validate my soft femininity. Eating meals that are a mix of "healthy" and what my body needs. Doing lots of self care in a luxury sort of way. This is all apart of the new me. This expression of myself peeked it's head out last year but in 2015 it is full on. A new expression of myself. Softer. More feminine. More graceful. Welcome to 2015 me.
